日本＋アメリカで海外大学卒業。安心の留学ならレイクランド大学へ。

　12歳の頃、母に連れられフランスへ行った事がきっかけで海外に興味を持った私は、まず世界共通語である英語を完璧に話せるようになりたいと思い、英会話教室に通うようになりました。また二度の海外留学を経験し、それ以来、英語を使ってコミュニケーションを取る楽しさを覚え、中学、高校と共に英語が１番好きな科目となっていました。高校３年の夏、特に行きたい学校が見つからず悩んでいた時にレイクを見つけ、オープンキャンパスに参加した末、私は入学することを決意しました。

　昔から引っ込み思案だった私は、授業中に積極的に発言することができるのか、また、オープンキャンパスで先輩方が話していたたくさんの課題を、投げ出さずにこなすことができるのかとても不安でした。しかしレイクに入学して、私は大きく変わりました。今の生活は正直言って大変ですが、毎日積極的に授業を受け、どんなに課題が多くてもしっかり終わらせている自分に驚いています。そして、その授業や課題は着実に私の力となり、Examや毎週のようにある小テストの結果を通じて、努力が身についていることを実感します。あまり勉強が好きではなく、毎日コツコツと積み重ねることが苦手だった私が、今では勉強することが楽しいと感じられるようになり、また、毎日忙しいからこそ充実し、達成感のある日々を送っていられるのだと気づきました。こうして頑張っていられるのは、ここで出会った気の合う友人、熱心な指導をしてくださる先生方やスタッフの方、地元で応援してくれている家族や友人の支えがあるからだと思います。

　レイクでの生活を通し、努力することの大切さを改めて知りました。やらなければならないことと、自分がやりたいことを両立させることは難しいですが、時間を上手く使って一日一日をますます充実させていきたいです。そして、これからも今以上に努力し、英語力も精神力も大きく成長させ、将来の夢を実現できるよう頑張っていきたいです。

　When I was 12, my mother took me to France and I became hooked on the idea of going abroad. I first wanted to perfect my English, for it’s the universal language, and I eventually started to use it in a classroom setting. It was the second time I experienced going abroad that I started remembering the fun of being able to communicate, and throughout middle and high school English had become my favorite subject. During my senior year of high school I hadn’t been able to find a college I wanted to go to, but that’s when I found Lakeland College Japan. I participated in an Open House and became determined to enroll here at this college.

　I was a shy person, so I was really worried about being able to express my feelings in class, as well as if I could do any of the assignments the LCJ students had spoken of during the Open House. However, I enrolled to Lakeland College Japan and really changed. To be honest, the college life here can be difficult. But being outgoing in class every day and making myself finish the assignments, no matter how big they may be, I even surprise myself. The assignments and classes became smoother with the work I had done, and with the passing of each exam and weekly quiz, I truly feel like these efforts have become a part of me. It’s not that I particularly enjoy studying, but from the person who wasn’t good at working day after day, little by little, I have begun to feel the fun part of studying. With every day being busy, I have noticed the many days of accomplishment and fulfillment. I think I am able to work this hard and be here because of my high-spirited friends I met here, the always eagerly supporting teachers and staff, and the cheers and support from those back home.

　Going through life here at Lakeland College Japan, the preciousness of my effort has changed and become something I am aware of now. It’s difficult to combine both the things I want to do and the things I have to do, but I want to use my time well and make each and every day fulfilling. From now I want to put in even more effort, as well as continue to grow in my English abilities and become more mentally strong. I want to do my best to make my future dreams a reality.
