　私にとってレイクランド大学ジャパン・キャンパスは、教育を受ける2回目のチャンスを与えてくれたところです。高校時代の私はろくに勉強もしないダメな学生でしたが、社会に出て大学教育がいかに大事か、そして学校の先生になるという私の夢のためにも必要なことなのだとわかりました。ＬＣＪに来ると勉強しようという雰囲気になりますし、何より勉強していると私の自信にも繋がってきます。ＬＣＪのキャンパスには、世界中の様々なバックグランドを持った人たちが集まって一緒に勉強していますので、とても興味深いものがあります。国際化が進む今日の世界では、自分の国だけでなく他国の人たちとも一緒に問題解決にあたらなければなりません。そういった意味でもＬＣＪの環境はとても意義深いものだと思います。

　私の夢を成し遂げるには、そして自分にとって大学教育が必要なことだと悟った高校を卒業して10年が経ちました。自分に合った大学を探し始めたのですが、高校時代の不勉強がたたり、なかなか自分にとっていい大学が見つかりませんでした。無限にある大学のリストを目の前にし、本当に自分に合った大学が見つかるのか、段々自信もなくなってきました。そんな時に友人からレイクランド大学ジャパン・キャンパスのホームページを教えてもらいました。そこで学生たちが大学のことについて語っている記事を読んでとても興味を持ち、そしてすぐに進学を決めました。ＬＣＪのスタッフや先生方は、こんなに高校時代に勉強をしなかった私が、なぜ学校の先生になりたいという夢を持つようになったのかという話に真剣に耳を傾け、私の教育に対する想いを受け止めてくださいました。そして、なんと入学式では新入生代表スピーチに選んでもらったのです！このことで自分に対する自信も取り戻せましたし、なにより勉学に対するモチベーションはＭＡＸになりました。

　ＬＣＪは究極の教育の場だと思います。先生方やスタッフは常に学生一人ひとりに気を配り、サポートが必要とあらばどんなサポートでもしてくれます。そしてここで出会った学生たちは、みんなとてもフレンドリーでとても気さくです。すべてのクラスは15名以下の少人数に保たれ、先生と学生の間に壁はありません。ですから先生たちも学生一人ひとりをしっかりサポートしてくれます。ＬＣＪへ入学するという決断は今まで一番正しいチョイスだったと思います。もしみなさんが、海外の大学で学んでみたい、または夢を追いかけたいという希望があるのであれば、ＬＣＪはオススメですよ！

　For me, Lakeland College Japan has given a chance to redeem myself in education. Although I never was academically involved during my high school years, I realized how much college education was important not just in society, but also necessary in pursuing my goal to become a school professor. LCJ is providing me with the right educational atmosphere, and is also given me confidence. The intercultural diversity of campus life is very intriguing because there are many student’s here from all around the globe learning and working together. In my opinion, this is a very essential factor because the world is becoming more international and people need to look beyond the borders of there home countries to try and work together in obtaining this global harmony.

　Ten years had passed after graduating high school when I realized how much college education is essential to pursue my original dream. I started to look for a suitable college, but my lack of involvement in high school and its academics had made it extremely difficult. I had very little confidence while searching through the infinite list of colleges. I was just starting to lose hope when my friend introduced me to the Lakeland College Japan website. Just reading what the students had commented about the school was very interesting, so I decided to give myself one final shot. The staff and faculty of LCJ actually sat down and listened to my story of how I had dreams to become a school professor, regardless of my high school experiences. They understood my newfound passion and determination for education! Not only has LCJ acknowledged me as a student but they also picked me as a speech representative for new students at the Opening Ceremony. This boosted my moral to its maximum, giving me confidence in myself.

　LCJ is the ultimate educational experience! The teachers and faculty constantly encourage students to strive for perfection and genuinely support you in every way possible. All of the students I have interacted with are extremely friendly and open-minded about internationalism. Every class has a limited number of student’s ranging from eight to fifteen students per class making the teacher/student barrier almost invisible. This gives the teacher more time to pay attention to each student’s educational needs. All in all, my decision to enroll into LCJ was the best academic choice and I recommend anyone who has aspirations to study abroad or just wanting to pursue their education in a welcoming and challenging atmosphere.
