1865
Civil War.
The number of students dwindled, and at one point there were as few as three.
1888
Construction was completed on the school's landmark, the Old Main Hall.
It was used as a classroom, office and dormitory.
1890
The Campus Flyer, a horse-drawn carriage, began picking up students from around the town and taking them to the school four days a week.
1907
Three pianos were purchased.
1911
A building was donated by a local church and was made into a gymnasium.
1930

1937
In celebration of the 75th anniversary, local residents donated a library.
1996
The Old Main Hall was completely refurbished and made into a modern facility.
2000
The Japan Campus, established in 1991, celebrated its 10th anniversary.
1862
Lakeland College was established as "Mission House."
1956
The school name was changed from Mission House to Lakeland College.
The adjoining church and seminary relocated to Minneapolis.
1962
Many different events were held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lakeland College.
Today, more than 4,000 students, including international students from more than 40 countries, study at Lakeland College.
