I can't help but offer assistance when I see them eagerly, cheerfully and honestly facing themselves and working on various things. I do my best to help them clear their own paths.

Different class styles and systems can be confusing, and students will have many questions about university life and career options. Studies, environment, university life, career options. At the Japan Campus, we offer counseling to students to ease these uncertainties and others.

The tutoring system is a free one where fellow students chosen by the university help with supplemental studies. In English for Academic Purposes, students from the Academic Program give advice on the key points and issues in the classes. In the Academic Program, the professor selects a tutor from the same class to help the student prepare, review and study for tests.

In the Academic Program, professors also act as academic advisors for each student. The advisor will help the student choose the courses they need and will offer advice for selecting a major. One professor is assigned to each student so that they can give specific and accurate advice.

In American universities, all professors have office hours in which they are available to answer questions from students. During this time, the professors are in their office, and students that have questions can approach them freely. At Lakeland College, students and professors have close relationships, so the consultations are not limited to classwork but often cover career options or personal issues as well.
