Quick Guide to Use LCJ Mail


OPENING LCJ MAIL

1. You should have a User ID (e.g., "ytanaka") and a password. See Mr. Poza if you do not.

2. On any computer connected to the Internet, open a browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.).

3. Go to the web page http://japan.lakeland.edu:8383.

4. Enter Your User ID and Password.

5. You may see a "Greetings" message. Click "Continue" on the left side.

6. You are now on the Main Menu page.

 

CHECKING MAIL

1. On the Main Menu page, look at the "Message Count." there are two numbers separated by a slash (e.g., 4/2). The first number is the total messages in the mailbox. The second number is the number of unread messages.

2. If there are unread messages, click on the mailbox name (usually "Main").

3. You will see a list of all messages. Unread messages will have a green background. To read a message, click on the email under "Subject."

 

SENDING MAIL

1. On the Main Menu page, click "Compose."

2. Put the email address you are sending to in the "To:" box. If you are sending to another LCJ Mail address, then it is OK to put only the User ID (it is not necessary to add "@japan.lakeland.edu"). If you send to more than one person, use a comma between addresses.

3. Write a title for your email in the "Subject" Box.

4. In the large box, write you email.

5. When you are finished, click "Send."

6. You will see a "message delivered--success" notice. The email has been sent.
